Flower Series Overview
Maternal Influence
Vera created the following collection of digital artwork depicting flowers: first, out of love for nature, and secondly, out of the desire to reflect upon the symbolic meanings associated with flowers. From childhood, the tender love for flowers was planted in Vera's heart as she watched her mother work in the garden. Her mother tended each plant with loving care. Seeing her joy, Vera has no doubt that gardening was her mother's way of communing with the Lord.
Spiritual Significance
Many years later, Vera became interested in yoga and meditation, her attention turned to the purpose and subtle meaning associated with flowers. Throughout history artists used flowers to imbue their artwork with visual beauty and spiritual significance. the spiritual masters teach us that the beauty in flowers is a reflection of the Supreme Reality. With the historical use of flowers combined with the teachings of the spiritual masters, Vera realizes that flowers not only enrich her life through the enjoyment of their beauty and fragrance, but they also help to give meaning to life.
