Earth Mandala

In the digital artwork called Earth Mandala, the colors depict the quality of the earth. Mandala is a Sanskrit term meaning a circle, which symbolizes the universe, totality, or wholeness in Hinduism and Buddhism. A flower having a circular shape can be considered as a Mandala. The flower drawn in a free-hand style in this artwork represents a circle. Another reference to the circle is the earth, which is basically a three-dimensional Mandala. As for the Mandala symbolizing the universe, we experience the universe from the viewpoint of our lives on Earth.
